Getting Started in FIMS
This course is designed to give an introduction of FIMS features for new users and as a refresher course for seasoned users, as needed.
Intro to FIMS
Overview of the Profile module, including how to enter a new profile, add a spouse or partner record, add additional addresses, add contacts and reminders, affiliations, notes, relationships, and fund associations.
Overview of the Development and Program features in FIMS including the Gifts and Grants modules. This includes how to process gifts and grants as well as export data for correspondence.
Overview of FIMS standard reports and exports. This includes how to filter records you want to include in a report using the Selections and Affilliations tab as well as how to export profile records for a mailing.
Financial modules in FIMS including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, and FACTS. Intro to Administrative Fee and Spending Policy calculation routines, how FIMS handles fund accounting, and flow of financial data through the system.
Overview of the Fund and its related records.
The topics covered in this session include an overview of interfund gifts and grants, two options for profiles when processing interfunds, system options for interfunds, creating and processing the interfund transactions and reporting on interfunds.
A review of how DonorCentral can be used to process interfund grant recommendations.
Learn what the FieldMaker module is, the benefits of using custom fields, how to create those custom fields and how to report on them.
This session covers topics such as setting the mailing and data export options in FIMS as well as creating a mail merge template in Word along with a mailing labels template.
